The City of Durham’s Small Business Advisory Committee provide programs and services for small businesses, such as business plans and marketing strategies, financing, management skills training, and business counseling. The Office of Economic and Workforce Development connects up-and-coming and existing small businesses directly to member organizations focused on technical assistance.

In its third year, Innovate Durham continues to be a cutting-edge partnership for enhancing innovation for community businesses and the local government.

During the eight-month program, participants get an in-depth view of community issues, develop leadership skills necessary to assume leadership roles, and are exposed to community involvement opportunities. Participants study the qualities that make an effective leader, analyze individual leadership roles, and develop personal leadership styles and skills. The program will open your eyes to new challenges and opportunities and the role you can play in shaping the future of our community and region.
